Early adopters help shape the future of AEMT Codes of Practice
The AEMT is continuing to refine its Codes of Practice programme following feedback from the first companies to complete the compliance and verification process. The aim is to ensure that the scheme – the industry framework for electromechanical repair facilities built around quality management systems aligned with the principles of ISO 9001, the technical requirements of IEC 60034-23, and sustainability – is both robust and practical for electromechanical repair businesses.
As more members achieve Compliant and Verified status, one of the latest organisations to complete the more rigorous Verified process is Score Europe.
Ian Elliott, Manager – Actuation | Projects | Service at Score Europe, said the journey was much simpler than some members may expect. “The process was simple and working with the AEMT made verification straightforward,” he commented.
He added that Verified status provides organisations looking for an electromechanical repair partner with an additional level of assurance, particularly for equipment operating in hazardous environments, while also giving member companies a recognised way to demonstrate their competence.
“It gives our customers confidence that Score’s services are professional and delivered with the relevant experience and ability to repair critical actuators to a high standard.”
The AEMT believes feedback from early adopters such as Score Europe is helping to ensure the Codes of Practice continue to evolve into a practical industry benchmark. As more members work towards Compliant and Verified status, the Association expects the scheme to become an increasingly important way for end-users to identify repair partners that can demonstrate recognised standards of quality, technical competence and well-run operations customers can depend on for the long term.
