The Association of Electrical & Mechanical Trades (AEMT) is delighted to be returning to the West Midlands on the evening of Thursday 20th November for the staging of its 8th Annual Awards Ceremony. This year’s suite of eight categories has again produced some truly exceptional entries from right across the electro-mechanical arena.

The Association of Electrical and Mechanical Trades underlined its commitment to diversity with the launch of its first Women in Engineering Power Hour. Held at the recent AEMT Conference, the session brought together women from across the industry to reflect on findings from a recent survey, share lived experiences, and to identify practical steps to support inclusion and career progression in the electromechanical sector.

With the deadline fast approaching, the Association of Electrical & Mechanical Trades (AEMT) is reminding organisations and individuals across the electro-mechanical sector to submit their entries for the 2025 AEMT Awards before time runs out. The final date for submissions is Friday 22nd August, and all are encouraged to put forward their achievements in what is a particularly significant year—the 80th Anniversary of the AEMT.

A first-of-its-kind event, organised by the Association of Electrical and Mechanical Trades (AEMT) in close collaboration with Sulzer, was held at Sulzer’s Birmingham facility and brought together apprentices from across the electromechanical sector for an inspiring day of networking, learning, and hands-on team building.

At its recent AGM, the Association for Electrical and Mechanical Trades (AEMT) announced the appointment of Mark Brady as its new honorary President, taking over the position from outgoing President James Stevens, the CEO at Preformed Windings.

As it celebrates its 80th anniversary, the Association of Electrical and Mechanical Trades (AEMT) has introduced its first Codes of Practice for, and backed by, its membership. The introduction of the AEMT Codes of Practice aims to support the Association's members in delivering a high-quality service while reassuring their customers that AEMT members maintain and repair electromechanical equipment to the highest standards.

The AEMT has achieved CAFA (Climate Action for Associations) Certified Carbon Neutral Association status by measuring, reporting, and offsetting its carbon footprint from January 2023 to December 2023, and putting in place credible, science aligned plans to further measure and reduce its emissions.
