Double-reduction helical gearbox repair

A FACILITIES MANAGEMENT COMPANY identified the need for an overhaul of a double-reduction helical gearbox.

The gearbox is responsible for delivering power transmission across its operations, so is a vital component. The bearings and seals had deteriorated over time, due to the demanding operational environment. More importantly, both the input and output shaft seal journals had sustained damage, compromising the integrity of the sealing surfaces and risking further internal contamination if left unaddressed.

A fast turnaround and a thorough, lasting repair were both priorities.
