Founded in 1980, Repelectric is East Africa’s premier, and largest, electric motor and rotating equipment repair and rewind shop, offering rewinding and repair of all electric motors (AC & DC), pumps, alternators, and transformers. We proudly serve the vast majority of regions heavy and light industries, where most of our clients have been with us for decades. We are the authorised repair centre and distributor of new motors for WEG in Kenya. We also rewind and overhaul refrigeration compressors in partnership with BITZER Gmbh. We are the leading manufacturer of carbon brushes, in partnership with MERSEN S.A. Our sister company, Condition Monitoring Ltd., offers vibration & ultrasound analysis, balancing, laser alignment and additional on-site preventative maintenance and live monitoring services. We have well experienced team, of over 50 engineers and technicians, centralized at our well equipped workshop. To date we have the ability to rewind MV machines upto 10MW. All our electrical testing equipment enables testing in accordance with ESI 44-5, IEC 60034-18 and IEC 600-34-2-1.

The AEMT Codes of Pracice are being replaced with our provisional codes of practice at the end of 2025. Members will be asked to demonstrate compliance with these codes by 2027. The Secretariat and Council are preparing for this transition, ensuring members have the support, resources and tools needed to comply.
