Engineering specialist Fletcher Moorland is celebrating a major award win.

The Stoke-based company was among those successful at the inaugural Association of Electrical and Mechanical Trades (AEMT) Awards 2017.

The awards ceremony, which was held at Doubletree Hilton Hotel, Coventry, saw more than 150 people from across the UK gather to celebrate the best achievements in the electrical and mechanical trade sector.

Six awards were given out to exemplary businesses and professionals involved in the manufacture, sales, service and repair of rotating electrical machinery.

And Fletcher Moorland scooped the award for the Technical Innovation of the Year – Product category for ServiceView.

ServiceView was launched by the company in late 2015.

The free service allows customers to be updated on their repairs through means of a video, which can be accessed via an email link.

Matt Fletcher, managing director at Fletcher Moorland, said: “By winning this award it recognises the team at Fletcher Moorland as innovators in our industry, it also marks the beginning of a digitalisation phase for our business.

“We will be rolling out further services and products this year fit for the fourth industrial revolution, industry 4.0 or better known as The internet of things IoT.”

Thomas Marks, secretary of the AEMT, added:“The industry is full of heroes who have until now, not had the opportunity to be recognised officially for the outstanding work they do. It was fabulous to finally recognise and celebrate all the good work of these people through the inaugural AEMT Awards. To date, this has been the largest event the AEMT has hosted, and the positive feedback from the evening’s guests has marked the ceremony as a triumphant success.”
