Online Ex Repair Training (04-08-25)

This self-guided online course is designed to provide individuals new to Ex equipment repair with a solid foundation in the principles, protection concepts, and standards required when overhauling, repairing, or reclaiming equipment for use in hazardous (zoned) areas.

Delegates will gain a thorough understanding of the correct procedures and best practices for overhauling explosion-protected motors, pumps, gearboxes, and other associated equipment. The course ensures that work carried out is in accordance with the original certification or applicable standards to which the equipment was manufactured.

The course also offers detailed guidance on legal obligations, risk assessments, and health and safety requirements involved in the maintenance and overhaul of Ex apparatus.

To complete the course, delegates must undertake an online practical assessment with the AEMT lead trainer. This assessment ensures a clear understanding of the course material and its application in practice. Certificates are only awarded upon successful completion of this assessment.

  • The course is delivered in English and is fully self-paced.

  • Delegates have 12 days from enrolment to complete the course content, after which the practical assessment will be scheduled.
