Apprentice Day – What’s in Store

We’re bringing apprentices together from across the electro-mechanical sector for a full day of learning, development, and connection — designed to inspire the next generation and strengthen the future of our industry.

🔧 Morning Sessions

Breakout Rooms
Apprentices will rotate through three focused sessions, designed to challenge thinking and build both confidence and capability:

  • Communication & Teamwork
Explore the behaviours that drive successful teams and understand how effective communication supports every great engineering outcome.
  • The Apprentice Experience
An inspiring session centred on the real apprenticeship journey — the lessons, challenges, and doors it can open in this sector.
  • Technical Training
A hands-on, workshop-based session delving into a core electrical or mechanical topic — delivered by seasoned professionals with real-world experience.

Facility Tour & Quiz
A guided tour through key departments on-site, led by members of the team. Apprentices will be encouraged to observe, ask questions, and engage — with a short quiz afterwards to reinforce what’s been learned.

Group Wrap-Up
All groups reconvene to reflect, share key takeaways, and prepare for the afternoon ahead.

🌲 Afternoon – Outdoor Activities

After lunch, the focus shifts to the outdoors. Set in a dedicated activity and team-building centre, the afternoon will push apprentices beyond their comfort zones with a series of physical and mental challenges designed to build:

  • Trust and problem-solving
  • Collaboration under pressure
  • Confidence and communication

This is where the morning's learning comes to life — with practical teamwork, leadership, and resilience on full display in a fun, informal setting.

This day is more than training, it’s about connection, confidence, and creating a future-ready workforce.
