Venue: The Link Hotel, Loughborough
On Wednesday, 17th October, Steve Green and Clive Buggins of the Energy & Utilities Independent Assessment Service and will present to members on how the new Maintenance Operations Engineering Technician (MOET) Apprentice standard can help the association.

Venue: Cedar Court Hotel, Huddersfield followed by Westin Drives.
The AEMT partnered with Westin Drives for its northern meeting last month. The company had just finished a £1 million investment upgrading their facility, and were overjoyed to show it off to customers and members alike.

It was great to see the AEMT Golf Day return with so much success. A combination of both old and new faces attended the day to make up 12 teams. The very absent 2017 English summer sun even decided to make an appearance.

At the AGM the election of officers for 2017/2018 are endorsed, as well as the annual reports on the Association's progress and plans for the future. It is the main opportunity for Members to say how the Association can help and support Members and Associates in their businesses.

Venue: Online Meeting
The training committee focuses on the training needs and requirements for the association. Currently it’s focus is on the urgency of getting the young into engineering through apprenticeships and bolt-on training courses. Other focus points are future careers in the industry and 4.0, further education and practical training for employees and online training development.

Fri 12th May
Venue: Falkirk Wheel, Scottish Canals.
AEMT Members and Friends were invited to gain insight into the engineering marvel that is the Falkirk Wheel. A boat lift that transfers boats between the Edinburgh and Glasgow Union Canal and the Forth and Clyde Canal, a one of a kind structure, combining futuristic artistry with engineering prowess.

Venue: AM: De Vere Hotel Oxford Thames, OX4 4GX. PM: BMW MINI Visitor Centre
AEMT members and friends are invited to gain insight into the automotive assembly process at BMW MINI Oxford with an exclusive guided plant tour, estimated to take between 2 to 2.5 hours. Numbers are limited to 30, so be sure to book early in order to avoid disappointment.

The AEMT Conference will host an impressive line up of speakers and be supported by exhibitor stands of motor manufacturers, distributors and other AEMT suppliers.
