Engineers of the Future

The aim of the morning is to work collaboratively with young engineers, companies and educators. To discuss how we can attract and inspire a new generation of engineers who will enable us to keep up to date with technological advances.

As well as preparing for the future we’ll look at ways in which large and small organisation can overcome the skills gap challenge our industry faces.

Sessions will include:

  • A panel discussion with young engineers
  • How to create an Employer Value Proposition Workshop
  • Working with schools and colleges to create effective access to young employees.
  •
We'll meet in the Caygill Room, which is on the top colonnade of the Piece Hall in Halifax, which boasts wonderful views over Beacon Hill.

Parking

There isn't parking at Piece Hall, but visitors can use the car park located at Broad Street Plaza (HX1 1AY). Piece Hall customers receive a special price of just £3.70 for 6 hours if you pre-book using the code piecehall

Formula 1 Tournament

After lunch, we’ll head over to Halifax Race Centre where we’ll compete in F1 Simulators.

The simulators have been designed in conjunction with race equipment legend, Momo. They use a force feedback system to give an authentic feel and includes integrated shift paddles similar to  those found on modern Formula 1 cars.

The resistance and travel settings of the accelerator, brake and clutch have been specifically tailored by SRL, and the pedals use Grand Prix strength brake springs to give a truly authentic race car feel.

Super high resolution, high contrast professional LCD projectors, ceiling mounted produce a stunning image and the superb headphones give an immersive experience.

The winner will be bestowed with glory and presented with a Trophy which I’m sure will take pride of place on your desk!
