Tom Tom offers the AEMT Council direction.

Based in Sheffield, they are a modest firm, rich in history. With only a small workforce and one winder, Beatson’s represents a company similar in size to many others in the trade. Tom follows in the footsteps of his father, Ian Beatson, who still has an active hand in the company, and was the Northern Area Chairman in 1981.
Tom Grant joins the AEMT council as a new representative for Northern Ireland. His company, GES Group, is a major service centre in the area. Established in 1972 as Grants Electrical Services Ltd., the company has grown into a flourishing business, employing 80 staff with locations in Mallusk and Ballymena in Northern Ireland. The group has several areas of focus including; renewable power, motor overhauls and rewinds, HV/LV installation and maintenance, control and distribution panel design and build, process automation, and energy efficiency maximisation.
Gary Downes, newly appointed President of the AEMT, adds, “we welcome both Tom’s onto the council and I look forward to working with both of them in the interest of the AEMT. Being the first President from an associate company of the association means that having support from member companies like Beatson’s and GES is even more important. The differing sizes and locations of both companies means they are able to offer different vantage points, and balances the council.”
With two new members to council, the association also says goodbye to two valued members. Dave Hesketh retired from his position as immediate past president, handing over the mantel to Graham Brooker. Richard Bradford of Drummotors and More, who has been on council as an associate member for the last 4 years, also retires as chairman of the associates, leaving Simon Swallow of Rotary Engineering in his position.
